Excerpt:

“You can’t be serious.” Claire mustered the dirtiest look possible for her best friend.
Tiffany held out her hands and air-squeezed the man’s firm rear end from a distance. “C’mon. Look at that ass.”
“Yes, but a Santa Claus? How do I know what he looks like under that suit and beard?” Imagining removing the white hair to find a wrinkled old man, she shuddered.
“Only one way to find out.” Smacking Claire’s butt, Tiffany urged her forward. “Go ask him.”
She planted her feet. Thank goodness she hadn’t worn heels for their marathon shopping trip two days before Christmas. “If you’re so interested, why don’t you?”
Tiffany rolled her eyes, sighing. “Because I’m engaged to be married to the love of my life. You’re the Grinch who needs to get laid.”
“I’m not a Grinch,” she snapped. Breathing deeply, she counted backwards from ten. “I’m sorry. This is a very stressful time of year for me.”
“I know.” Tiffany cupped her elbow. “I just want to see you happy at Christmas again. It doesn’t have to be a miserable holiday anymore. That’s part of the reason I dragged you with me today.”

She swallowed the lump in her throat, tears welling already. Please don’t let me turn into a blubbering mess in the middle of the mall. While she appreciated her friend’s concern, she coped better on her own. “I…I should go home. I can’t pretend it didn’t happen.”

When a new threat forces him to come to Celine’s aid again, will Keiran be able to fight temptation long enough to keep her alive and protected, even from himself?

Excerpt
Celine awoke the next morning, startled by what she found once her brown eyes glided across the room. Disoriented and confused, she scanned her surroundings, instinctively knowing she was not in her bedroom. Of course, her throbbing headache soon demanded attention and she was no longer as concerned about lying on a strange bed in a strange room. She felt as if she had one serious hangover, except she did not remember drinking at all.
What happened? Where am I?
Another glance around convinced her she was in a hospital room – or at least it appeared to be a hospital room – which confused her even more. How in the world did she get there? Why was she there?
Well, if she wanted definite answers she had to ask. Judging by the sounds emanating from what she assumed to be the hallway to her right, the hospital staff had to be making their rounds somewhere out there. If only she could reach for the cord just above the nightstand, she would have it made.
She tried sitting up on the bed and immediately recognized her mistake. The room began to spin beneath her, and she had to fight back the bile rising up in her throat almost immediately after. Although she had felt somewhat out of place upon waking, it was nothing compared to the earthquake breaking out inside her skull now. Apparently, moving only accomplished triggering her dormant symptoms, which even now threatened to get worse. In order to avoid soiling the pristine sheets covering her body from toes to mid-chest, Celine decided to stay put before she ended up vomiting all over herself. Defeated, she lay back on the bed and squeezed her eyes shut, hoping that would stop the room from spinning.
By this point, she was not aware of much except that her head, right hand and back hurt like crazy, and she did not know why. She could not remember falling or anything of that nature, so the physical pain was as much of a mystery to her as the reason she was in the hospital. “So much for enjoying my days off with pay,” she muttered under her breath.
When Celine raised her hand and touched her left temple, she found at last the source of her pain. A huge bump that must look as nasty as it felt protruded from her head. Great! Just great! I had so been looking forward to my week of paid vacation, and I wake up in a hospital? How did that happen?
The last she remembered, she’d finished her long night working at the diner and had begun her commute home – and the events of the attack came back to her in rapid flashes. She recalled the assault, the two men and the fight she put up. She remembered the shock and surprise upon discovering she was being followed. She’d never been so scared in her entire life, not even when— Oh my God! Had those men…? No, she could not automatically assume the worst. But… had they… was that why she was here?
Again, Celine felt as though she might vomit. The mere thought of what those men might have done while she was unconscious disgusted and horrified her. Hadn’t she been through enough already?
All thoughts fled the second a soft knock on the door interrupted the silence in the room. She had no idea who decided to pay her a visit, but she assumed it was either a nurse, doctor, or police officer. Any of them would be welcomed. And any of them could provide answers for her, which she desperately needed. A million and one things flashed across her mind, including the one that worried her the most, had she or had she not been raped? As she called for whoever was at the other side to enter, she had nothing to do but bring the covers up to her chin and wait.

Black Baroness by R.B. Micheals

Genre: Romance

Kelli has a fantasy, to see how many men she can tease and send down in flames in one night. Then she meets her match- a retired hockey player who takes her to his penalty box for her misconduct.

Excerpt:

Kelli she stepped into the ladies room off the lobby, checking herself one last time in the large mirror. She dabbed on a touch more lip gloss then ran her fingers through her shoulder length curly, blond hair, teasing it just a bit more. Her eye shadow, Sapphire Seduction, made her blue eyes bluer. She smacked her lips together blending the gloss as she tugged the top of her skintight black satin dress, making sure plenty of her full, round breasts peered over the top. Kelli stepped back, examining her petite, shapely body from head to toe. Turning slightly, she checked the seams of her black silk stockings, each ran in a straight line from the top of her four inch stiletto heels, up the back of her legs, disappearing under her short skin tight dress. “Damn, you look good girl!  This is gonna be fun.”  She smiled at herself in the mirror then walked out of the ladies room, heading toward the bar.

Kelli was pleased to see a large crowd as she stepped into the hotel The room was abuzz with laughter and conversations. Men and women clustered together, enjoying themselves and dressed to impress.

At one end of the bar, a man sat by himself. He decidedly did not fit in with the rest of the crowd, dressed in jeans, and a jersey with Oilers emblazoned across the front.  He looked about as out of places in this Manhattan bar, as a hooker in a convent.

Project Terminal: Devil's Virus by Olivia Starke

Genre: paranormal romance

Max must put old heartaches aside and trust Reed to help her while she develops the cure for the devil's virus.

Dr. Maxwell Straight once committed her life to sparing families the pain of losing loved ones in war. While she had the best intentions for her role in Project Terminal, her twin sister, Dr. Marguerite 'Doc' Straight, had different ideas. When Max suggested using a deadly virus to help speed healing to super soldiers injured in the field, her sister turned it into a horrific weapon of mass destruction instead. Now Max must trust a man who broke her heart to keep her safe while she develops a cure for what she started.

Adam 'Preacher' Reed saw what was coming in Project Terminal long before anyone else. When his warnings fell on deaf ears he turned away from the project, and Max, for good. He'd given his body to science, but he wouldn't sell his soul. Now Max needs his help to stop the spread of the undead plague, and he'll do anything to see the project fall. What he doesn't count on are the feelings he still holds for the scientist who chose her twisted work over him. Can he keep Max alive long enough to develop the cure? Or will his worst fears be realized—losing his heart to Max, and their lives to the project?

Content Warning: graphic sex, strong language, and violence

Excerpt:

Reed growled, lifting her from her feet. She wrapped her legs around his waist and he sat her on a lab table. The cold metal top chilled her as he stepped back. His eyes burned a trail down her torso. He leaned in, bracing his hands on each side of her hips, trapping her between. He stared into her eyes.

"This is a serious complication, Max." The words sounded forced.

Max had to clear her throat. "It will definitely get in the way."

"We need to stop right now."

"Yes, we do." She hung suspended, both fearing he'd move in or back off. Neither option seemed satisfactory with the war going on between head, heart, and loins.

"Max, I—"

A huge crash reverberated through the room, shocking a scream from her lungs. Reed whirled toward the noise, bracing his feet wide. Raspy breathing sounded from down the hallway, and Max's heart thundered.

"What the hell is that?" she whispered.

Footfalls slapped down the hall, bare feet hitting the tile flooring. Max held her breath, unsure what to do while Reed dove for his rifle. The undead appeared in the doorway, the sad remains of a woman. Her mouth hung agape, foam dripping from her lips. Reed aimed, but it ducked down, disappearing behind the rows of tables.

"Damn it." Reed jumped on a table and shot Max a glance. "Stay where you are."

Max stood on the table, searching the murky corners. The thing's breathing echoed, making the woman impossible to pinpoint. Reed jumped tabletop to tabletop, keeping his rifle trained on the floor. It seemed the undead was more clever than Max realized, keeping just out of sight. She searched for a weapon, feeling defenseless and useless to provide assistance. Nothing handy presented itself beyond a few microscopes within reach. She focused on Reed who didn't look the least bit panicked. He moved silently without any wasted movement. He paused, and fired, the loud pop making her jump. She heard the scraping of nails on the tile and Reed shot again. All fell silent.

Falling by Tara Mills

Genre: Romance

Brilliant leaves and crisp clean air aren't the only things to blow into Meredith McCoy's quiet neighborhood. But when her tranquil autumn morning is shattered by the noise and belching exhaust of a small engine, she and her sexy new neighbor clash. It looks like the old adage, fences make better neighbors, is actually true. Or is it?

Perhaps there's some common leaf-strewn ground to be found for these two after all.

Excerpt:

Tearing the top of the bag apart, Meredith hugged it to her chest then proceeded to pace around the kitchen, eating one pretzel after another as she rounded her little butcher block in the middle of the room.  She was eating salty snacks and doing laps in her kitchen—and slowing every time she passed the window above the sink so she could watch Garrett as he cleaned up his mess outside.
He must think she’s insane.  He’d moved in two months ago and she hadn’t spoken one word to him—until today. Then she came off as completely hostile. Meredith groaned. Bet he thinks she’s got a major case of PMS. No way could she come right out and deny it!
Another loop, another brooding sigh, another pretzel munched as she watched the muscles in his arms bulge, his firm buttocks flex, his dark hair stir in the nippy wind. He had a great profile. The little jag in his nose hinted at a bad boy past. There were so many questions she wanted to ask. So many details to be pried out of him but she’d blown her opportunity by blowing her top.
The kettle exploded with a shrill whistle and Meredith jumped, scattering pretzels all over the floor around her. She ran to shut off the burner, tossing what was left in the bag onto the counter on the way.
Pouring out the hot water, she started thinking perhaps she should offer Garrett something. To drink, she clarified impatiently. She had coffee, tea, cocoa, diet soda. It was the neighborly thing to do. Call it an olive branch, if you will.

Revenge in Rio by Samantha Darling

Genre: Romance

Calculated revenge, unexpected passion…

Business magnate Luca Venancio is returning to Rio to pay his respects to his late brother, and to seduce his once fiancée, Daniella, back into his bed. Five years ago she left him without so much as a word, shunning him and the rich life he could offer in exchange for his younger, reckless brother. Now Luca wants revenge—seduce her and dump her, that's all he intends to do.

Blackmailed into a violent farce of a marriage, Daniella had no choice but to comply to protect Luca's life, even though it meant never being able to see him again. Years later, a twist of fate reunites them, throwing her plans of fleeing Rio out of the window and the love of her life straight back in.

Luca's flawless plan soon becomes complicated when he discovers Daniella is expecting his brother's child. It becomes even more complicated when old passions return. Can he actually go through with seducing her, bedding her, and then discarding her?

Excerpt:

"I will get out here," Daniella said, reaching for the door handle.

"No, keep driving," Luca ordered, glaring at the chauffeur and pressing the central lock button.

Although he hadn't been back to the house, he clearly remembered where his brother had lived. It had been his parents' home and he'd grown up there. He would never forget the decrepit building that had desperately needed restoring. Paint had chipped and flaked off of the dreary walls, and the rooms were so small they felt claustrophobic. He'd spent many nights sitting on the roof listening to faint arguments between his parents, whilst he dreamed of a better life.

"You don't think I at least deserve an explanation? Some minor clarification as to why you just left me in the dark?" Luca stared at her intently, and she opened and then quickly closed her mouth again, biting down on her bottom lip until it darkened to a deeper tone of pink.

He kept his eyes on her, not even blinking, as he looked her up and down. She was a shadow of the vibrant girl he remembered; the Daniella he had known five years ago. Sitting beside him now she was scared, the fear was wild in her eyes, and she was clearly malnourished, evident from the black sack of a dress, which hung off her delicate frame.

"When did you last eat something?" It was more of a demand than a question.

"Excuse me?" He finally had her attention.

"You heard me. When did you last eat something?"

"That's none of your business." She pulled the cardigan tighter around her midriff and turned away from him.

"I'm concerned. You look ill."

"Well, I'm not. I'm…I'm…" He watched as she stumbled for her words. "I'm just grieving, okay?"

Fair enough, she may have been grieving for the last twenty-four hours. It was bound to have been a grueling short space of time for her to comprehend Miguel's death and have the customary quick funeral. But what about before Miguel's death? The circles under her eyes and fading blue marks across her jaw were old; her skin and hair were dull and lifeless and told a story.

They sat in silence as the chauffeur strategically maneuvered the Bentley through the favela's never-ending maze of winding roads, passing makeshift house upon house, small street markets, and gangs on each corner. Luca's eyes fixed on the house in front of them when the car eased to a halt a few meters away from their destination, and he recognized it instantly as his childhood home.

Reaching for the door, Daniella pulled on it a couple of times before he pressed the central locking release.

She looked over her shoulder and whispered, "You really have to go now."

He had given in far too easily years ago, this time he was a different man; a man who always got what he wanted, however cruel and ruthless he had to be. He had to remember that. Love had left him weak and feeble. It had taken time to gather himself and learn to never let emotions take over. Work was his haven, a place for him to focus and throw himself and his energy into. He would prove to Daniella that she had made the wrong choice.

Placing a hand on her shoulder, Luca's fingers brushed against her dark curls and the nape of her neck. "I'm not going anywhere this time." He leaned closer, his gaze fixed on her mouth. "I've come for something and I intend to get it."

I live in Essex, not too far from London, with my very understanding husband, our identical twin boys, and two Bedlington Terriers. We're crammed into our rather cozy two-up two-down terrace and we can barely swing a cat, but hey, we love it. I work part-time as a nurse, but when I'm off duty, you will find me either chasing the toddlers around like a headless chicken, head buried in a book, or tapping away at my stories.

I have always loved to read and romance is by far my favorite genre! You can easily escape into such promising worlds, where sexy Alpha males lead the way and strong heroines often can't help but fall head over heels in love. I adore a Happy Ever After, as I'm sure we all do if we're honest, right?

Reading and writing go hand in hand, and from the day I could read, I enjoyed writing. To put pen to paper and conjure up weird and wonderful little stories was what I thrived on! English was my favorite class at school right throughout to secondary, and I will always be thankful for the teachers who gave me the opportunities to develop and be creative! If I remember rightly, one of my first stories was called The Turkey Who Could Talk…but I'll tell you more about that some other day.

This isn’t a sweet and innocent coming of age story. If dirty talk, bedroom toys, and threesomes offend you… this is not your book. There are also no billionaires, strippers, or virgins. This is just the story of typical college kids trying to connect to each other.
“No one tells you when you start school just how homesick you will be, or how hard it will be to start life over with no direction and no friends or family. No one says that becoming your own person is terrifying.”
Lily had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Derek, for years – which led to their steamy night ten months ago in her bedroom. Now, she’s off to college and she and Derek are still going strong. However, when school starts, Lily realizes it’s hard to maintain a relationship, while also trying to live her own life. She and Derek find themselves falling apart and she has no idea where to turn.
Enter Jack. Everything about him is wrong for Lily and she knows it, but she can’t stop herself from being attracted to him. When things implode with Derek, it’s Jack who’s there to pick up the pieces – and to show Lily an entirely new set of experiences she didn’t know she was missing.
Of course, Jack has his own problems and once Lily gets to know him better, she starts to wonder if she can handle all of Jack. When Derek reappears on the scene, Lily is forced to decide between two guys and herself. Can she find herself without losing the people who matter in the process? .
This is a work intended for readers 18+ as it features explicit sex between people in college. See where it began in the short story, “Her Brother’s Best Friend.

Excerpt:

He moves closer and already my body is responding. He smells like cigarettes and leather, two smells I never thought were sexy until now. I want to fall into his body, to be wrapped in his arms, and I fight it. It’s wrong and it makes no sense. I have everything I could ever want. Jack is just a distraction.
“I’m not that kind of girl,” I tell him.

He steps closer still and kisses my neck. His lips are soft, which is unexpected, and it sends a shiver through me. Jack brings me in to his chest. I can feel his heart beating; it’s quickening and it matches mine. I feel his tongue sliding down along my collarbone. There is nothing like this, but I need him to stop. And yet, I never want him to stop. “I’d love to know exactly what kind of girl you are.”

Almost as if they are not my own, my hands slip between his jacket and his shirt. The heat of his skin burns me even through the fabric of his clothes. His lips continue to travel downward, but as they reach the curve of my breasts, something in me wakes up. I tear myself away from him and back up a few inches.

“I have a boyfriend,” I repeat. “I can’t do this.”

“Where is he?” Jack asks. His eyes are burning.

“What?”

“Where is your boyfriend? You’ve mentioned him before, but you run into me a lot for someone who’s so in love.”

Lily of the Valley Flowering Series Book 1.5

This isn't a sweet and innocent coming of age story. If dirty talk, bedroom toys, and threesomes offend you... this is not your book. There are also no billionaires, strippers, or virgins. This is just the story of typical college kids trying to connect to each other.

"No one tells you about pain. They tell you that it hurts, that sometimes it's consuming. What they don't tell you is that it's not the pain that can kill you. It's the uncomfortable numbness that follows, the weakness in your body when you realize your lungs may stop taking in air and you just can't exert enough energy to care. It's the way taste and color and smell fade from the world and all you're left with is a sepia print of misery. That's when the shift starts - the movement from passive to active. I fall asleep, hoping that the morning will bring back the pain. At least the pain is a thing."

Plagued by a dark past, Jack sees college as a way out. Desperate to escape the area where he grew up, the people who know his secrets, and his own family, he deals with his problems through alcohol and meaningless sex.

When he first sees Lily, she's the epitome of everything he hates. Yet something about her makes Jack rethink everything he knows and assumes about other people. Now, with the help of his best friend and lover, Jack has to decide if he wants to pursue something that he knows will only end badly.

Can Lily be one of the few people who can see Jack for who he really is - or will his darkness be too much for her to handle?

Her other novel, Bitter Fruits, was available shortly, but is now in the contract phase with a major publisher. When Sarah isn’t writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking Facebook for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window.
